Acrylic on a 20”×24” canvas. Penny began this painting while watching her husband fishing at Cypress Black Bayou. The inspiration came from the many trees in the park where she gathered several real leaves that had fallen, laid them out on the picnic table, and began sketching the details of the leaves onto the canvas. The peace and comfort was disturbed by new visitors that came in and destroyed the peace with a loud boombox and about 20 extra people. This piece was later completed in her studio at home. Heavy impasto, gold borders, on black background.
